Across the state line
Visions of deer
Smashing themselves across semis
In attempt at flight
Sade, feels like paradise
Writing these words as I drive
Storm blown in
On the wind
Through my mind

Flicker lightning to the north
Sickle moon behind

Thinking of nothing as I drive
Thoughts rushing in
Like smoke
Through my mind

I float above the curve
Above the smooth turns
Drunk on blooms of it on the wind
It’s my favorite thing
