I grew up on the streets, where the tough survive
Always looking over my shoulder for the cops to arrive
There's nothing worse than a snitch, they'll rat you out in a minute
That's why you gotta keep your circle small, and be careful who you're with
The streets ain't no joke, you gotta be on your toes
Keep your eyes open and your head up, or you might get exposed
The police always watching, but they ain't stopping the crime
It's up to us to make it out, and make a better life
I've seen the struggles of the streets, where the weak get beat
But those who made it out, found a way to stay on their feet
The police say they're here to help, but they're just part of the problem
They harass and intimidate, and get away with it often
The streets ain't no joke, you gotta be on your toes
