I never drank coffee but you drank it black

When we snuck in the class room at quarter past two
Left a mark on my cheek and I smile back at you
And I never looked back since
But I think about it
I still remember the way that we'd play on
The bus back from our school in second grade
And you'd read all your books with your head on my chest
And we'd laugh all the way home till your stop was next
Spent my days in the summer all at your place
So I spotted your dimples right at your face
Said that I was your best friend and you love me too
And I told you my world's not complete without you
And I never looked back since
But I think about it
Would we still have plans to leave here?
Drive across country lines?
Open fields and empty highways
Till we see northern lights
We could stay here, we can laugh all night
Like we used to, just forget the time
