I was twenty-two and broke with about nine bucks to spend
Living on a floor I didn't own with a borrowed friend
Everybody said I'd blow it, and they told me I'd regret
And I'm sitting here still laughing 'cause it hasn't happened yet
Every good thing that I've got
Came from getting it all wrong
I took the worst advice I ever heard
And I rode it way too long

The worst mistake I'm proudest of, the good that came from bad
Here's to every wrong turn, every burned bridge, every scar
Every stupid thing I ever did is how I got this far
So pour one for the long odds, pour one for the night
I'd get the whole thing wrong again and still come out alright
There's a woman who took one look at a man who was a mess
And decided she could work with it, which nobody would guess
There's a house with too much noise in it and nothing on the wall
And if you ask me what I'm proud of, man, it's all of it, it's all
